Colossus USA

My question may seem silly, but I'm curious about your answers. So, here we go: How has living in NYC changed your life?

It hasn't changed my life yet... I thing it's something you realize when you're back home...
If it happens, good, and if it doesn't, it's okay... I think the big change already happened for me.

Hard to explain in short.
It's easy to access good and bad things. Easy to see riches and no-riches. I becomes more flexible to meet or to communicate with different types of people, I think.
Keep up energy high!!!

I became more proactive in every way. In my country, I was surrounded with familiar things, and I was stuck in my job all the time, which didn't allow me to have extra time for new things. Here in New York, everything is new to me, and I am a total stranger. So I wouldn't have anyone to talk and anything to do if I acted like when I was in Korea. Here, I have to take initiatives to make friends and to find something that I'm interested in and I can enjoy. Often I find myself very different (in a positive way) from what I was before.

It's hard to say exactly right now, but I feel as if my experiences in New York, particularly since coming to graduate school, will prove to be momentous after its all said and done. Prior to studying in New York, I was in Chicago for 5 years and Japan for 2 years. Those were fun times, but I had no clear vision of my future, mainly because I didn't know what I really wanted out of life. As a graying old man, I have a much more acute sense of my goals, both near term and far. I suppose New York has trained me to listen to my heart and follow my passions. That has allowed me to live day by day with intense focus and purpose, knowing that I am at the very cusp of realizing my dreams.

I think that the ritm of my life changed...in my city, florence, things change slowly and life is kind of always the same..I was very used to that, always the same friends always the same things to do..I feel after being in New York I get bored very easily when I am there and I am less patient!! I think much more about how to use my time in the best way!!! but I think this is something not only related to New York, because it started to happen to me since I first left my country in 2003 for 7 months exchange study program in Amsterdam! I think probably travelling makes you want to discover always more and more...!!
