My question is...

Girls, what is your favorite home-made dish? Something that you can actually cook. Why don't you share a simple recipe or just some essential secret ingredients?

I love "Milanesas" with french fries. I guess you know how to make french fries. Milanesas are made with, thin sliced meat, eggs, salt, parsley, garlic (if you want), bread crumbs, and my secret: grated parmesan cheese.
Mix the eggs, with the parsley, salt, garlic and grated parmesan cheese. Stir.
Once is all mixed, then dip the sliced meat into the mixture and then in the bread crumbs.
Fried or cook in the oven until brown and enjoy the milanesas with salad, french fries,or mashed potatoes.

Sounds yummy...
My favorite is a french dish called "tartiflette". It's made with potatoes, onions, bacon, and one of my favorite franch cheese, reblochon (you can find it in NY, not tooooo much expensive).
First boil the potatoes without the skin, let them cool and slice them. Slice the onions, fry them in olive oil, and reserve. Slice the bacon, fry it too in the same pan (WITHOUT adding oil !!).
Then, in a dish, put one layer of potatoes, one of onions, one of bacon, and so on until the dish is full. No need to add salt, but can do with a little pepper. Then slice the cheese, and put the slices on top of it all, so that everything is covered (you can keep the crust of the cheese, it's event better).
Put it in the oven, not too hot but not just warm (because evrything is cooked, you just want to melt and toast the cheese).
Then eat it right away !!! delicious with salad and wine...

There's one Polish dish I simply adore; it's called 'golabki'. I think you can try it somewhere in Greenpoint, Brooklyn (that area is full of Polish restaurants). I find it too difficult to explain (or maybe I'm just too lazy today) so here's the link to the recipe http://fooddownunder.com/cgi-bin/recipe.cgi?r=248765

Enjoy!

Hey Sue! Remember that there are two men in this class as well! I don't have any recipies to add here now (because I have SO many because I'm SUCH a talented cook).
But what I will suggest is that we have a pot luck party at some point soon. Then I can try all your tasty cooking!

I like sweets, so I like baking. I'm interested in knowing about how to bake and where are good bakery or tea rooms in the city. I bakes about twice or three times a week. The homemade-cakes are easy to have when you do homework, even I carry to go.
I also like spices. I cook very interesting roasts with different spices. The spices I like most is french herbes which contains rosemery, lavender, sage, and etc. I also consider the salt. The salt is vevy important in human body, so I prefer sea salts for cooking.
The recipes I cooked are from differnt books when I found the ones good or interesting. But I think easy is better.
Sorry if I gave the right answer for you.
